Prospect research, written down

Working notes from the ProspectAPIs team on researching prospects, reading funding signals and preparing sales calls, by hand or through an agent.

In one paragraph

This blog covers the work before a sales conversation: finding the companies that just raised, researching an account or a person from public sources, and preparing for a call. Each post links every figure to the page it came from, and the code examples call the same API and MCP server the product sells.

What we write about

Four subjects, the same four the product serves: prospect research (what to learn about an account and a buyer before the first message), funding signals (finding companies in the weeks after they raise), company research for account planning, and call preparation. Each post ends with the call you would make to do the same work through the API or the MCP server.

We write for the people who do this work every day: SDRs and account executives preparing outreach, the GTM engineers who automate it, founders who sell to newly funded companies, and the agents those teams are starting to run.

How we source a number

Every figure links to the page it came from, and we say what kind of evidence it is: a filing, a company's own announcement, a survey or a practitioner's guidance. A time estimate that is our recommendation is labelled as one, never presented as a measured average.

We launched in October 2026, so nothing here is a customer result. When a post needs an example, it is labelled illustrative and written about a made-up company. The product facts come from our own documentation and pricing page: per our pricing page, the first 100 funding records each month are free, and research briefs are priced per completed brief.
