Funding data API
Funding data API
startup funding rounds by API
The ProspectAPIs funding data API returns startup funding rounds as records: the company and its domain, the round, the amount in US dollars, every investor and the lead, the announcement date and the URL where it was announced. You filter by round, amount, investor, domain and country, and pay $0.009 for each record a page returns, with no monthly minimum.

Per our API reference, a funding search takes 9 filters and up to 60 requests a minute per key; the price is read from our live price list each time this page renders.

Why funding rounds are a sales trigger
A company that has just raised has money to spend, a plan to hire and a board asking for growth. The weeks after an announcement are when it buys tools, agencies and services. Who uses funding data, and how:
- Outbound sales teams. A daily list of companies that raised in your segment, each with a dated reason to write.
- Agencies and consultants. Recruiting, growth, design and development shops pitch the founders who now have budget.
- Investors and analysts. Track rounds by stage, sector and investor without a seat licence.
- Product builders. Show funding inside a CRM, an enrichment tool or an agent, joined on the company domain.

| amount_usd, amount_original, currency | The amount in US dollars when stated, and in the announced currency. | Sizing |
| investors, lead_investors | Every investor named, and the leads. | Warm paths |
| announced_at | The announcement date. | Why now |
| location, country, country_code | Headquarters as the source states it, plus an ISO country code when it is clear. | Territory |

Questions
What is a funding data API?
An API that returns funding rounds as structured records: which company raised, how much, in what round, from which investors and when. Sales teams use it to reach companies that have just raised, and investors and analysts use it to track a market.
How much does it cost?
$0.009 per record a page returns, from a prepaid balance. A search with no match is free, and a lookup by id that answers 404 is free. Every account starts with a free $1 balance, about 111 records.
How far back does the data go?
Rounds are complete from 2026-10-01, partial from 2026-09-22 to 2026-09-30, and only a few earlier rounds are held. An empty answer carries a coverage object saying so, so your code can tell no round from no data.
Where do the rounds come from?
News sites that publish every round they cover, press release wires and SEC Form D filings. Each record carries the URL it was read from.
Can I get new rounds pushed to me instead of polling?
Yes. A watchlist saves your filters and a webhook, and each new matching round is posted to you, signed. It costs $0.009 per delivered record, charged only when your webhook answers 2xx.
Is there a monthly minimum or a sales call?
No. You sign up, copy a key and call it. Credits are prepaid, never expire and have no monthly minimum.
Can an AI agent use it?
Yes. The MCP server exposes funding_search and funding_get on the same key and balance, and any agent that can send an HTTP request can call the REST routes. Our ProspectAPIs MCP server is on npm.
