Funding signals

Written and maintained by The ProspectAPIs team

The funding signals API returns funding rounds, newest announcement first: venture rounds, debt, grants and IPOs, with the amount, the investors and the source of each announcement. Filter by date, round, amount, company, domain, investor or country, and pay only for the records a page returns.

$0.02

per record returned

100

free records a month

100

records a page, at most

Search with any mix of filters. Unknown parameters are a 400, so a misspelled filter never returns an unfiltered, billed page.

sinceEarliest announced date, inclusive. YYYY-MM-DD.
untilLatest announced date, inclusive. YYYY-MM-DD.
roundComma list of round stages, for example seed,series_a,series_b.

max_amount_usdLargest round size in USD.

countryHeadquarters country, case-insensitive.
limitRecords per page, 1 to 100. Default 25. Each record returned is billed.

Pagination

Pass next_cursor back as cursor, unchanged, with the same filters. A null next_cursor means there are no more matches. Narrow with filters before you raise limit: every record returned is billed.

bash
cursor=""
while :; do
  page=$(curl -sG https://api.prospectapis.com/v1/funding \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer $PROSPECTAPIS_KEY" \
    --data-urlencode "round=seed" --data-urlencode "cursor=$cursor")
  echo "$page" | jq -c '.data[]'
  cursor=$(echo "$page" | jq -r '.next_cursor // empty')
  [ -z "$cursor" ] && break
done

GET /v1/funding/:id

One record by id, as { "data": { ... } }. $0.02 when found, free records first; a missing id is a free 404.

bash
curl https://api.prospectapis.com/v1/funding/2b9a6c1e-... \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PROSPECTAPIS_KEY"

Billing

Each request holds the records it may return, using your free records first, then credits. The page is capped to what the hold covers, and the unserved part is refunded when the response closes. When you cannot pay for even one record the API answers 402 with a top_up_url. The X-Credits-Remaining and X-Free-Records-Remaining headers show the balance after each call.

Next steps

Create a free account to get a key; the first 100 records each month are free. The quickstart covers authentication and errors, watchlists push new rounds that match these filters to your webhook, and pricing lists what each call costs. Our guide to sales prospect research explains why a recent round is often the best answer to why now.
