Launch events API
Launch signals API
startup launches as sales triggers
The ProspectAPIs launch signals API returns startup launches as sales triggers: a tech company launched something usable, or said it is about to, and the record names the company and its domain, the kind of launch, when it happened, a link to the company's own post and the founder or employee who posted it. You reach the right person the week it ships, and pay per launch once it goes on sale.
Launching soon. Nothing is charged until our price list shows launch events as available. We open them once a sample of 300 records, checked by two people, shows at least 281 correct. A key you create today works the day they open.

Why a launch is a reason to reach out
Of all the buying signals a company gives off, a launch is one it announces itself, with a date and a person behind it. The week after a launch the founder is busy getting it seen, choosing tools and spending on reach. Who uses that trigger event, and which launches matter to them:
- Launch and growth agencies. Video, PR, outreach and paid social teams pitch the founder of a new company or product while the launch budget is still open. Filter to new_company and new_product.
- Sales teams selling to startups. Dev tools, infrastructure, payments, security and analytics: a company that just shipped is standing up its stack now.
- Named-account sellers. Any launch at a company on your list is a specific, current opener. Put the domains on a launch watchlist and get each one pushed to your webhook.
- Investors and scouts. A new_company launch is often a company's first public moment. Pair it with funding records for the same domain.
- Recruiters. A new company or a major version usually means hiring for growth and support next.

What a launch record carries
Each record answers three questions: who launched, what kind of launch it was, and who to contact. The full field list, with every filter and error, is on the launch events docs.
| Field | Meaning | Use |
|---|---|---|
| company_name, company_domain | Who launched. A launch whose domain we cannot resolve is never served. | Join key for every other call |
| stage | post: usable now. pre: the company itself says it is about to launch. | Filter |
| launch_type | new_company, new_product, major_version or feature. | Filter |
| product_name, category, country_code | What launched, its category and the company's headquarters country. | Routing |
| source_url | The company's own post or page. We link to it and never copy its text. | Proof and opener |
| launched_at, detected_at | When the company published it and when we found it. | Freshness |
| person_ref, person_name, poster_role | The founder or employee who posted it, as a reference you can read next. | Who to contact |
| gate_version | The version of the checks that passed the record. | Audit |
Your first request
New companies and new products launched in the United States, newest first.

The answer is a page of launches and a next_cursor to pass back for the next page. This example shows a fictional company:

What counts as a launch
A record is served only when all five checks hold:
- 1
The company says it
The announcement is in the first person: we launched, we are live, now available.
- 2
The company posted it
The poster is the company's own account, a founder or someone who works there, never a fan, a reporter or a reposter.
- 3
Something is usable
People can use it now. For a pre record, the company says it is coming.
- 4
It is a product
A product, a version or a feature, not a video, an article or a giveaway.
- 5
It is a tech company we resolved
We found the company's own domain. No domain, no record.
Token promotions, roundups, parody accounts and third-party news are dropped before any check runs. We count a record as correct only when it is a real launch AND it names the right company, and each record carries the gate_version that passed it.
Launched, or about to launch
The stage field separates the two. A post record is a launch people can use today. A pre record is what the company has said about its own launch: a waitlist, an early-access page, a date in its own post. We never predict a launch from indirect hints. Reaching a company at the pre stage puts you in the conversation while the launch plan is still being made.
How teams use it
- 1
Search or watch
Search recent launches with filters, or create a watchlist with kind launches and receive each new match at your webhook, once.
- 2
Find the person
Read the founder's profile from
person_ref, and check the address you find with the email verifier. - 3
Write the opener
Reference the launch itself, with the link to the company's own post. A reason that is true today beats a generic pitch; our guide to funding signals for prospecting shows how a trigger like this fits a sales workflow.
Routes and prices
Prices come from GET /pricing. A route marked launching soon is not on sale and charges nothing. Every product is on the pricing page.
| Route | What it does | Price |
|---|---|---|
| GET /v1/launches | Launches, newest first, filtered by stage, launch type, domain, company, category, country and date. 1 to 100 a page. | Launching soon |
| GET /v1/launches/:id | One launch by id. | Launching soon |
| POST /v1/watchlists | A watchlist with kind launches pushes each new matching launch to your webhook once. | Launching soon |
What we keep, and what we never copy
- A link, not a copy. Records carry a link to the company's own post or page, unless the person who posted it asked to be removed, and our own fields. We never store or serve the post's text or media.
- One company, a few pitches. One company receives at most a few launch deliveries across all customers in any 7 days, unless your watchlist names that company's domain, so a founder is not pitched by everyone at once.
- Removal on request. A person who asks to be removed is taken out of launch records and alerts. Requests go to the address on our privacy policy.
Questions
- What is a launch signal?
- A record that a tech company has just launched something people can use, or has said in public that it is about to. It names the company and its domain, the kind of launch, when it happened, a link to the company's own post or page and the person who posted it. It is a sales trigger: a true reason to contact that company this week.
- Can I use it today?
- Not yet. Nothing is charged until our price list shows launch events as available. We open them once a sample of 300 records, checked by two people, shows at least 281 correct. Create an account now and the same key works the day they open.
- How much will it cost?
- There is no price yet, so this page shows none. When launch events go on sale the price appears here and on the pricing page, read from our live price list. A search with no match and a 404 will be free.
- What counts as a launch?
- All five must hold: the company announces it in the first person; the company or someone who works there posted it; something is usable now, or for a pre record the company says it is coming; it is a product, not content; and it is a tech company whose domain we resolved. Token promotions, roundups, parody accounts and third-party news are dropped first.
- What is a pre record, and is it a prediction?
- A pre record is what the company itself said: a waitlist, an early-access page, a launch date in its own post. It is never a guess from indirect hints, so you can quote the company's own words back to it.
- Do you include view counts or the text of the post?
- No. A launch record is about who to contact and why now, so it carries the link to the company's own post or page and our own fields, and never the post's text, media or reach figures.
- Is this a company news API?
- It is narrower on purpose. It covers one event, a company launching, with the founder attached, rather than every article that mentions a company. For funding rounds use the funding API, and for a company's profile the companies API.
- Can an AI agent use it?
- Yes. Any agent that can make an HTTP request can call both routes with your API key, and launch_search and launch_get are being added to our MCP server on the same key and balance.
